The mining adventure in Sør-Varanger began more than 120 years ago and has, for generations, been a central part of both the local community and Norway’s industrial heritage.

We are now entering a new chapter. With Grangex as our owner, Sydvaranger is preparing to restart operations and further develop the business for the future.

Our ambition is to recommence operations and supply the world market with a high-quality magnetite iron ore product - based on modern solutions, high standards, and a strong focus on sustainability.

At full operations, Sydvaranger will be a diverse workplace with approximately 450 employees across nearly 80 different professions. Together, we will build a future-oriented industry and create long-term value for the region.
